2014

* FOAL - Samauring Zayin gave birth in May to a handsome bay colt Zayin Activist (By Mared Al Sahra), this is the first second generation breeding Zayin have done.

2013

* RACING WINNERS - Zayin Shamern won his maiden by an easy 7 lengths over 7 furlongs and came 2nd twice over 7f and 1 mile 1 furlongs, and 4th over 6 furlongs (Owned by Zayin trained by Pete Hammersley and ridden by Steve Harrison) , he was then sold and exported to Sweden to live with Jessica Svensson and her family. Owned by Zayin trained by Pete Hammersley and ridden by Steve Harrison..

 

* Zayin Zachilles - the first Zayin bred colt to win, ran green in both maidens before cruising home at Salisbury over 7 furlongs winning  by 6 lengths, then followed up two weeks later over 7 furlongs at Hereford to make it 2 wins from 4 runs.

 

*ENDURANCE - Zayin Encantado and his owner Jenny Pierson came 2nd in the 80 km  ER at Boconnoc, 2nd in the 80 km Barbury Castle Chase and then won the 100 km ER Gold Achievement at Cirencester Park. Winner of the EGB Windard Award for best first season horse.

 

*Sakeena Sky Zayin - 2nd in the 100 km ER Gold Achievement at Cirencester Park, Bronze in the 80 km Golden Horseshoe, grade 2 in the 80 km at Barbury Castle, 4th in the South Coast Tournament 80 km Advanced Endurance Championships.

 

*Kumara Zayin - 3rd in the 100 km ER Gold Achievement at Cirencester Park, Bronze in the 80 km Golden Horseshoe, grade 1 in the

80 km at Barbury Castle.

 

*Zayin Barakaldo (sold and exported to UAE by his owner) - 3rd out 136 runners in the 80 km FEI 1 star endurance race in Dubai, his first race ride. Owned by Al Barrari Stables in UAE.

 

*FOALS - 2 foals born, Barryh had a handsome bay colt Zayin Angkor Centurion (by Dahess) and CS Comete had a chestnut filly Zephyrella Zayin (by Madjani), our first filly since Amy in 2006.

a Sky Zayin and Kumara Zayin won the 65 km Phoenix Endurance Pairs Class, Sky also came 3rd in the 65 km Open South Coast Tournament Endurance Championships, while Kumara took Silver in the 80 km Exmoor Golden Horseshoe.

On the gallops

2012

*RACING WINNER - Samauring Zayin gave us a memorable days racing when winning over 1 Mile 6 furlongs at Nottingham, running out of her grade and the least fancied horse of the day she won easily by 2 lengths, proving that anything can literally happen racing and that on her day Sammy is a very good race horse, she also came 3rd twice over 1 Mile 6 furlongs and 2 Miles. Owned by Zayin trained by Pete Hammersley and ridden by Steve Harrison.

 

*Amyzing Zayin - came 2nd twice from 4 starts over 7 furlongs and 1 Mile 2 Furlongs. Owned by Zayin trained by Pete Hammersley and ridden by Steve Harrison.

 

*Zayin Barakaldo - Only ran once but came 4th in the Listed Dubai NBD Conditions Stakes over 1 Mile 2 furlongs on Dubai Day.

 

*Zayin Shamern - became the first gelding to carry the Zayin racing colours, came 5th in his maiden at Hereford.

 

*ENDURANCE - Sakeena Sky Zayin and Kumara Zayin won the 65 km Phoenix Endurance Pairs Class, Sky also came 3rd in the 65 km Open South Coast Tournament Endurance Championships, while Kumara took Silver in the 80 km Exmoor Golden Horseshoe.

 

2011

*RACING WINNERS - Zayin Barakaldo wins again over 1 Mile 2 furlongs at Nottingham for owner/trainer Julie Green.

 

*Samauring Zayin wins over 1 Mile 4 furlongs on her 9th attempt at Hereford, owned by Zayin, trained by Adam Newey and ridden by

Craig Thompson.

 

*ENDURANCE - Zayin Encantado starts to excel in endurance with owner Jenny Pierson, 2nd in the 65 km at Cirencester Park, 2nd in the 80 km Dragons Egg and 4th in the 26 Mile AHS Marathon.

 

**Amyzing Zayin - Best effort 4th over 1 Mile 2 Furlongs at Stratford.

 

FOALS - Two foals born, CS Comete had big bay colt Zayin Zodiac (by Dahess) and Barryh had bay colt Zayin Indian Fuego (DA Adios).

2010

*RACING WINNERS - Zayin Barakaldo wins twice including his maiden over 7 furlongs on his second start, and then following up in the 6 furlong DIARD Premier Handicap Stakes at Kempton Park (owned/trained by Julie Green and ridden by Rob Woollard/Martin Smith).

First Zayin bred to win a race.

 

*Sakeena Sky Zayin finally loses her maiden tag when winning the Kelanne Stud Handicap Stakes over 1 Mile 1 furlong at the 17th attempt, first Zayin bred mare to win a race, owned by Zayin, trained by Bev Deutrom and ridden by David Turner.

 

*No foals this year.

 

2009

 

*No winners but Sakeena Sky Zayin comes 2nd over 6 furlongs twice (Salisbury and Fontwell) and comes 6th in DIARD Premier Handicap Stakes at Kempton Park, owned by Zayin and trained by Bev Deutrom.

 

*Zayin Zeus - 3rd over a mile at Huntingdon, the first Zayin bred colt to race, owned/trained by Glen Kiff and ridden by Steve Harrison.

 

*ENDURANCE - Zayin Vakaash wins the 80 km  Dragons Egg.

 

*FOALS - Two foals for the stud, CS Comete gave birth to massive chestnut colt Zayin Zachilles (by Kaolino) and Jumah has chest/grey colt Zayin Zamurai (by Eau Royal).

 

*Kissira Zayin exported to Qatar for breeding.

 

2008

 

*Sakeena Sky Zayin (Karmah x Sweet Simplicity) comes 2nd on her debut at Exeter over 1 Mile 2 furlongs, trained by Sam Davison, becomes the first Zayin bred to get placed on the racecourse.

 

*Barryh gives birth to our only foal a colt Zayin Bazyush (Jiyush)

 

*CS Wraith exported to UAE for breeding, our first export.

 

2007

*No foals were intended this year but Paul ended up swapping the yearling colt Zayin Zeus for Arab racing trainer Glen Kiff’s heavily pregnant CS Shamal (Bengali D’Albret x Samaura Bint Samurai), Shamal gave birth to a colt Zayin Shamern (by Concord).

 

2006

*Zayin’s most prolific breeding year with 4 foals born (3 colts and a filly) - Zayin Zeus (colt by Makzan x CS Comete), Zayin Barakaldo (colt by Khoutoubia x Barryh), Zayin Kulok (colt by Vert Olive x Autumn Columbine) and Amyzing Zayin (filly by Concord x Jumah).  All were sold except for the filly Amyzing Zayin although years later Paul would confess to regretting selling Zayin Barakaldo “he was clearly the pick of the foal crop and even at that age had a touch of class about him, but you can’t keep them all!”

 

*A winner……..not racing but Aliesha ridden by Paul won her Hunter Trial at HDRC landing the time trial in confident fashion.

 

2005

*French bloodlines introduced to the stud via the purchase of two key mares - CS Comete (Bengali D’Albret x Cikada) from Clarendon Stud and a full sister to Group 2 winner and UK Champion Arab CS Al Wahed and Barryh (Djelfor x Manisa), both in foal for 2006.  3 foals born - Samauring Zayin (filly by The Wiking x Jumah), Kissira Zayin (filly by Dawwas x Aliesha)and Zayin Zukhabarr (colt by Dedja Des Forges x Barryh), the latter bought as a foal at foot with his dam. All four broodmares scanned in foal to French racing stallions a significant change in strategy.

 

2004

*First dedicated Arab race broodmare purchased the very beautiful Jumah (Div x Samaura Bint Samurai) from Clarendon Stud, a winner of 3 races and placed 12 times from 20 starts, she was put in foal to American sprinting stallion The Wiking.

 

2003

*The first pure bred Zayin colt was born Zayin Vakaash (Vasilisk x Autumn Columbine), quickly followed by a filly Sakeena Sky Zayin (Karmah x Sweet Simplicity) and a colt Zayin Encantado (Karmah x Aliesha).

 

*CS Sambisoora was second three times, nearly a win but not quite.

 

2002

*UFO (Piechur x Matsika) - 4th over 1 Mile in her Maiden at Huntingdon.

 

*One foal born a grey filly Laihana Zayin (by Pogojii) out of Shahlizia.

 

2001

*The first pure bred Zayin bred foal was born a filly by Kumara Zayin (Pogojii x Autumn Columbine).

 

*The only year we had no runners Arab racing.

 

1999

*Aliesha became the first Arabian to carry the Zayin Arabian stud racing colours when running in the 1 Mile 4 furlong maiden at Larkhill in July

 

*Sweet Simplicity became the first horse to win for Zayin under trainer/jockey Paul Simmons when landing the 1 Mile 2 furlongs Heart of England Maiden Stakes at odds of 33/1.

 

1998

*Zayin Arabian Stud established in Exmoor National Park by Paul Simmons with the purchase of two Arabian mares Aliesha (Fuego x Talima) and Sweet Simplicity (SES Pashas Mirat x Sky Scilla) .
